Maggie Williams
Maggie is a current fourth year undergraduate student at the University of Denver, majoring in psychology and art and minoring in critical race and ethnic studies. She is currently in the University of Denver psychology distinction program working on completing a thesis on how race impacts perceptions of individuals with drug addictions, as well as, how mental representations of individuals with drug additions differ based on type of drug used.

ALLISON BAIR
Allison completed her PhD in social psychology at York University in Toronto. Her work focused on the factors that impact the physical and mental well-being of stigmatized group members. She is particularly interested in how racial identity and the experience of stigma interact to produce beliefs, strategies, and behaviors that impact well-being. As an IRISE post doc working with Kathryn Fox and Paige Lloyd, Allison will be studying racial biases in psychological care recommendations

GINA PAGANINI
GRADUATE STUDENT
Gina is a fourth year graduate student in the ASC area working with Dr Lloyd. After earning her BS in Psychology from The Ohio State University in 2018, she continued her research at OSU in the Self and Social Motivation laboratory. Her research centers on understanding the systemic propagation of inequality and the consequences for underrepresented individuals and groups. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her very talkative cat, going to baseball games, traveling, cheering on the Buckeyes, and eating lots of cheesy food.

SIMRAT SAMRA
GRADUATE STUDENT
Simrat is a second year graduate student in the ASC area working with Dr. Lloyd. Simrat graduated with a BA in Psychology and Criminal Justice and a minor in Social Science Research Methods. Her research interests are in how social identities and intergroup processes can shape perception, attitudes, and action. Specifically, she is interested in looking at biased perception of racial minorities and how we can tackle the implicit biases related to these perceptions. She is also interested in the utilization of various different experimental methodologies within her research, from both quantitative and qualitative fields of research.

KEVIN SUMMERS
GRADUATE STUDENT
Kevin is a fourth year graduate student in the ASC area working with Dr. Lloyd. He earned a BA at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio majoring in Psychology and Premedical Studies. He spent one year as a lab manager at the University of Denver before pursuing his PhD there. In his research, Kevin investigates how group-based biases in person perception influence how we treat others in a variety of contexts. Outside of research, Kevin likes to hike, snowskate, go to concerts, and explore everything that Colorado has to offer!

LINDSAY GOOLSBY
Lindsay is a second year graduate student in the ASC area, working under Dr. Max Weisbuch and Dr. Paige Lloyd. Lindsay received their B.A. in East Asian Studies and Politics from NYU as well as a post-baccalaureate certificate in psychology from Columbia University. Prior to coming to DU, Lindsay worked in several labs, namely the Social and Moral Cognition Lab at Columbia University and the Communication Sciences lab at New York Psychiatric Institute where they headed up the statistics team. At DU, Lindsay’s research focuses on the gender binary, identity, and social perception, investigating perceptual elements of our social world that support/mitigate thinking of gender as binary.

Becky Suzuki (she/her/hers) is a third year doctoral student primarily working under the mentorship of Anne DePrince in the Traumatic Stress Studies lab. Originally from Denver, she received her BA in psychology from Haverford College in 2016. After graduating, she taught English as a Fulbright Scholar in Essen, Germany, and then served with AmeriCorps in Memphis, Tennessee. Prior to coming to DU, she worked as a research assistant studying anxiety, trauma, and grief at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. She is primarily interested in the intersection of trauma, marginalization, and service engagement. In her free time, Becky enjoys hanging with her pup Milo, reading, and doing puzzles.

CHARLIE HUNTINGTON
GRADUATE STUDENT
Charlie is a sixth-year graduate student in the ASC area working with Dr. Lloyd. After graduating with a BA in English literature and linguistics from Swarthmore College, Charlie became interested in researching close relationships and sexual health. He recently transitioned from studying clinical psychology to social psychology at DU. His research with Dr. Lloyd focuses on understanding perceptions of sexual minority individuals and people who have experienced sexual assault. When he’s not doing psych stuff, Charlie likes to run trails, climb rocks, make music, and hang out with his twelve housemates at his housing co-op.
